Looking for a route up to full project manager status? This Assistant Construction Project Manager role is ideal for someone looking for a fast development path towards managing your own construction projects - and it is within the leading edge modular building sector!

This client is a leading provider of specialist modular buildings. Using the latest techniques in off-site construction they are able to deliver complex projects within tight timescales and often in very congested areas and restricted locations.

You will be responsible, as an Assistant to a Senior Project Manager, for the successful implementation of bespoke design and build modular building projects from their inception and initial enquiry through to handover to the client.

Working under the guidance and reporting to a Senior Project Manager, this should soon lead to managing your own projects.

Whilst you will not be expected to have an existing background in this area a bright, enthusiastic, intelligent personality with a "can do" attitude are prerequisites to success.


Typical Duties
Communicate effectively with clients and subcontractors.
Steer a project to its successful delivery in terms of quality, timing and budget
Receive an outline brief and coordinate all parties to provide a detailed contractors proposal.
Sound commercial and contractual understanding of procurement methods, tender procedures and suppliers order arrangements.
Assist in tender returns and prepare sales proposals.
Set contract budgets and maintain accurate project costs
Understand what has been committed to on a project and what constitutes a variation to this
Awareness of Health and Safety issues relevant to a site environment.
Assess and detail realistic project programmes
Negotiate and place purchase orders with suppliers and subcontractors.
Manage on site activities during installation. Excellent internal and external communication will be a prerequisite
Carry out site meetings and liaise with the client during the sales process and post contract
Produce interim progress reports of current contracts activities.
Identify potential improvements and implement these from lessons learnt.
