We are retained by one of the largest Timber Frame
Manufacturers in the UK to fill this key business
development role. More importantly though - they are
probably the most forward thinking, have substantial
growth and development plans and everyone we speak
to there is so genuinely enthusiastic about the
company!
This Business Development Manager role is a key
member of the Sales Team, and will support the Sales
and Marketing Director in the development and
delivery of a sound Sales and Marketing strategy
that achieves the aims and objectives of the
Division and fulfils the Group Corporate Plan.
The post holder is responsible for the
implementation of the Divisional sales and marketing
strategy, in respect of the identification,
conversion and subsequent management of sales
opportunities within designated geographical areas.
Fulfilment of the role will require strong team
working relationships both within the sales team and
across all departments, particularly the technical
and contracts teams and the effective development
and management of client relationships, in order to
maximise sales and profit potential.
Effective fulfilment of the role will require the
post holder to maintain regular communications with
current and potential clients, technical and
operational personnel to enable the business to
maximise opportunities, minimise threats and support
change within the Division to achieve
corporate/divisional objectives.
The growth and competitive edge within the business
is highly dependent on the development of a positive
profile in the industry, based on strong client
relationships and a clear understanding of the
market-place in which the Division and its
competitors operate including political, economic,
environmental and technological developments. The
post holder will also be expected to contribute to
promotional and customer support proposals,
demonstrating both a commercial and technical
awareness of new opportunities and to problem
solving amongst the client base.
The key skills required for this post are:
A proven track record of business and sales
generation
A sound understanding of timber frame
Ability to work in a pressured environment
Ability to manage own time and workload
Ability to work as part of a team
Excellent communication skills
Able to report and plan activities in a timely
manner
