Major timber company with newly established timber roof truss and timber i-beam manufacturing plant seeks experienced Foreman / Supervisor to motivate team, and help grow and develop the business.

Great potential to further progress with this small but rapidly growing site within a major company.

This is a hands on role, working with and supervising the shop floor team.
You will have a good understanding of manufacturing and working with machinery, ideally in a timber engineering, saw mill or related environment.

You will need to demonstrate strength of character and an understanding of people.
You will be responsible for motivating your team to achieve production and quality targets.

Duties will include:
Schedule Production and deliveries in conjunction with Plant Manager and Technical Coordinator.
Issue all production paperwork to relevant departments in accordance with schedule.
Allocate and control labour to relevant production areas to ensure customer deadlines are achieved within budget.
Monitor labour costs, transport costs, productivity, waste etc to ensure budgeted targets are achieved.
Measurement and improvement of KPIs
Ensure quality of products to meet internal specifications and ISO 9000/2000 requirements.
Ensure Health and Safety compliance at all times.
Maintain accuracy of data capture i.e. downtime, output etc.
Implement Stock Control systems to ensure better availability of stock items at reduced stock value.
Problem solve and improve operational efficiencies in all areas.
In conjunction with Plant Manager deal with personnel issues. i.e. training, disciplinary, grievances etc
Specific project work as designated by Plant Manager.
