We are retained by a rapidly growing construction business
with ongoing public sector projects who are looking to
expand their Design team to accommodate the increase in
workload.
As Project Design Engineer, you will be designing and
specifying the building module elements for the factory
build activities for the company's fast-track construction
business. Working to tight and challenging production
programme deadlines, you will be preparing Bills of
Materials, production information packs, detail construction
CAD drawings, procurement specifications and assembly
instructions for shop floor and site as well as issuing
procurement and production/contracts information. You will
be working closely with the Estimating Design team in the
preparation of costed proposals for special (non-standard)
elements of construction both factory build and on site
construction activities. You will also be supporting
Contracts teams with the preparation of scope of works for
contractor construction works packages including evaluation
of Contractor's Proposals where required, as well as with
onsite inspections and advising on special aspects of the
installation, in particular where you were involved in the
initial design.
You will also be responsible for identifying areas where the
company can reduce factory build and Contractor costs
without impairing the delivery or building performance to
their clients, resolve technical and project queries from
all areas of the business with respect to production and
construction design and work towards improving the standard
product range and developing new product solutions to keep a
competitive edge.
Qualifications & experience:
HND/degree or equivalent qualification in building design or
construction
Ability and drive to achieve Chartered status
Strong AutoCAD 3D skills essential
Sound knowledge of Building Regulations and Building
Bulletins
Previous experience in modular buildings and some knowledge
of Revit would be advantageous but not essential
Although familiar with Codes and Regulations, you need
lateral thinking for this role, where you will use the codes
as the starting point rather than the end result.
