We are retained by a rapidly growing construction business with ongoing public sector projects who are looking to expand their Design team to accommodate the increase in workload. In your role you will have responsibility for the design and specification of all civil engineering aspects of the company's fast track construction business. You will be working to challenging deadlines for the issue of procurement and contractor information packages. You will be supporting Sales and Estimating teams advising on the civil engineering aspects of the project, as well as supporting Contracts teams in preparing scope of works for the contractor construction works packages including evaluation of Contractor's Proposals where required, carrying out on-site inspections and advising on the construction/installation elements of the project, in particular the civil engineering design. You will be required to resolve technical and project queries from all areas of the business with respect to all civil engineering issues, and work to develop novel and better groundwork/civil engineering solutions for the company's standard product range including developing new product solutions to keep ahead of the competition and provide improved levels of performance. Qualifications & experience: Civil Engineering or Structural Design degree or equivalent Ideally Chartered or nearly Chartered MICE or IStructE A sound knowledge of groundworks engineering backed by on site experience essential Ability to use AutoCAD 3D is essential You must be able to working to and meet tight deadlines and have a keen eye for accuracy and detail Working knowledge of Revit and experience in modular buildings would be beneficial but not essential Whilst you need to be familiar with Codes and Regulations, a degree of lateral thinking is required for this role, where you will use the codes as the starting point rather than the end result.
