:: Are you looking to get involved in some interesting and challenging timber frame projects? :: Do you have good solid experience in timber frame / timber engineering design? :: Would you describe your people management / leadership skills as outstanding? We are retained to source a Design Manager / Technical Manager to manage a highly skilled design team of Timber Frame and Roof Truss / Floor Designers working on a range of projects, including bespoke residential, commercial and public sector. Your work will include: - Organising and distributing design work to your team - Ensuring design work meets the required high standards - Day to day people management - Liaising with other departments to ensure timely and effective product delivery - Meeting with Architects, Structural Engineers and Clients In order to meet the requirements for this role, you will have: - Experience in design for timber frame and/or roof truss / floor joists and the ability to use AutoCAD (knowledge of Consultec framing software would also be distinctly advantageous) - Strong understanding of Building Regulations, Code for Sustainable Homes etc - Proven experience of managing Designers / Technicians - Excellent communication and delegation skills - Solutions-driven approach to problems Based in an attractive rural location, this company encourages strong teamworking in a friendly atmosphere, and with an "open door" approach from senior management.
